Thomas Collins Wins 5th Annual Australia’s Best Young Locksmith Award
Since 2012, Australia’s Best Young Locksmith (ABYL) has celebrated the contribution made by young up-and-coming locksmiths to the security industry in Australia. Qualified locksmiths aged 30 years and under are eligible to enter the award and must demonstrate their skill and commitment to raising security awareness in the community. Thanks to the ongoing support of sponsors LSC, Suttontools, Ross and Lockwood, the winner of Australia’s Best Young Locksmith receives a handsome prize pack valued at $6000.
2016 was yet another competitive year, with the award receiving a huge response from young locksmiths from all around Australia. After a difficult final round of judging, Thomas Collins of Archer Locksmiths in NSW was announced as the winner of the 2016 Australia’s Best Young Locksmith award. Thomas successfully demonstrated both his talent and commitment to the trade, and we believe he has a great future ahead of him. LSC hosted Thomas in Melbourne in late January where he accepted his prize pack, toured KJ Ross and Lockwood manufacturing facilities and networked with industry peers.
“As one of the largest security product wholesalers in Australia, we feel it is our responsibility support and nurture new talent” said Mark Johnson, CEO of LSC and head of the ABYL judging panel. Congratulations once more Thomas and we look forward to seeing what the future holds for this talented young locksmith.
